Gabriel Martinez is from Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico. He is only 22 years old which makes his works even more impressive. Gabriel learned to paint along side his uncle, Alejandro Martinez. Gabriel has received no formal training in art and paints exclusively in oil. In 2010 his painting, “Chiles” placed second in a competition for young artists in the Toluca Museum of Modern Arts. He is clearly a natural talent.
Gabriel has shown his work in Guadalajara,Tlaquepaque, Toluca,Cancun & Toronto, Canada. As well, he was invited by the Department of Culture for Mexico to be showcased along with other talented Mexican artists in expositions in Mexico City, Zacatecas & Guanajuato, which is a prestigious accomplishment.
Gabriel currently studies in the Fine Arts Program at the University of Guadalajara.
